Over the next few weeks, we will see the long awaited works to complete the outdoor landscaping works for Next Door Hextable, the new annex to St Peter’s Church
You will have noticed that the parish council did not plant the raised beds in front of the site this summer, due to the planned works. With all the internal works well underway, I am really pleased that over the next few weeks, we will see the exterior works commencing - which will include the removal of trees and shrubs to enable the civils works to start.
The Parish Council supports the work to tidy up the centre of our village - with the long-overdue removal of the old raised beds and uneven surface for a remodelled exterior with a new area for us to plant annual bedding.
There will be some intensive works on the site over the next few weeks, but importantly, the completion of the exterior works is the key to the removal of the hoarding around the site.
Last week I was able to visit the site to see for myself the progress of the construction work myself. The construction team are making huge progress, and remain on programme.
It is now clear that as the team enter the home straight for completion, we can all now look forward To seeing the back of the hoarding - that we have endured for the last 7 years or so.
I am excited that we can look forward to seeing the completion of these much-needed improvements in the centre of our village.
