Christmas Lights

A letter from the Chairman

Dear Residents,

I am sure you will have noticed that our normal display of lights on the trees around the village green are sadly not lit this year.  It is really unfortunate that despite testing them in August and then again in November, after several years of operation,  they have come to the end of their life.  The electrical safety device, designed to protect the wiring, has tripped out, and this cannot be fixed so close to Christmas.

Although the tree we have put up is not the display we were hoping to have, we must also remember that so many people have had a tough year. To that end, we felt we couldn’t possibly see Hextable in total darkness this festive season, so we hope you appreciate we have been able to bring just a touch of sparkle to our village.

It goes without saying that the parish council is disappointed with the situation, but rest assured, we will look at getting this fixed for an even brighter 2021 Christmas!
