HEXTABLE HERITAGE SOCIETY
The Society was formed in 2000 by a small group of enthusiasts who were keen to discover more about their village. We now have about 30 members and our area of interest has spread to cover not only Hextable, but the parishes near to us.
The aims and objectives of the Society are the protection, preservation and furtherance of knowledge of the local history and heritage of Hextable and its surroundings. We participate in local and national events such as English Heritage's annual 'Open Days', have a year round programme of talks and visits, and maintain an archive of artefacts, documents and phgotographs from the village's past which can be viewed on open days, or by prior arrangement with a committee member. A display of some of our collection can be viewed at the Heritage Centre, Crawfords, off Dawson Drive. Please look at the Hextable Parish Council web contact page and ring to see if viewing is possible.
Membership is open to anyone interested in the history of the area - not just current residents. For further information about lectures and dates, membership fees, etc. please contact the Chairman, Darren Kitchener on 07496 818558 or by e-mail at darrenkitchener@gmail.com
